The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) is a central sampling hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment, which plays a key role in detecting hadronic particles, identifying muons and measuring hadronic particle energy and missing transverse momentum. The HL-LHC project will increase the instantaneous luminosity of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) by at least a factor of five, motivating a major upgrade of the ATLAS trigger and data acquisition system, among which the upgrade of the readout electronics is a key aspect.
