The quark jet function for $k_T$-like variables in NNLO QCD / Buonocore, Luca (CERN) ; Grazzini, Massimiliano (Zurich U.) ; Guadagni, Flavio (Zurich U.) ; Haag, Jürg (U. Bern, AEC) ; Rottoli, Luca (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca)
The precise description of jet processes requires observables capable of efficiently capturing the dynamics of the energy flow in hadronic final states. We consider a class of tranverse-momentum like resolution variables that smoothly describe the $n+1$ to $n$ jet transition in multi-jet processes. [...]

Towards a topological data analysis for heavy-ion collisions / Capellino, Federica (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Dubla, Andrea (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Masciocchi, Silvia (Darmstadt, GSI ; Heidelberg U.) ; Nijs, Govert (CERN) ; Spitz, Daniel (Leipzig, Max Planck Inst.)
The collective expansion of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in heavy-ion collisions suggests that geometry-inspired approaches can be useful in extracting information about the QGP. In this work, a systematic study of observables based on topological data analysis is provided for simulations of heavy-ion collisions. [...]

Data-driven analyses and model-independent fits for present $b\to s \ell \ell$ results / Hurth, Tobias (U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Mahmoudi, Farvah (IP2I, Lyon ; CERN ; IUF, Paris) ; Monceaux, Yann (IP2I, Lyon) ; Neshatpour, Siavash (IP2I, Lyon)
We present a critical assessment of the present $B$ anomalies in the exclusive $b \to s \ell\ell$ mode based on the QCD factorisation (QCDf) approach. In particular, we analyse the impact of different local form factor calculations and of the largest bin in the low-$q^2$ region. [...]

Precision calculation of $N_{\text{eff}}$ with Neutrino Direct Simulation Monte Carlo / Ihnatenko, Oleksii (Taras Shevchenko U.) ; Ovchynnikov, Maksym (CERN)
Neutrino Direct Simulation Monte Carlo ($ν$DSMC) is a Monte Carlo method for solving the neutrino Boltzmann equation in the early Universe, designed to track the evolution of cosmic neutrinos across a wide range of cosmological scenarios. We develop a complete $ν$DSMC solver that consistently incorporates the effects of the electron mass, three-flavour neutrino oscillations, and finite-temperature QED corrections to the thermodynamics of the electromagnetic plasma. Thermal modifications of mesons and energy-energy correlators from real-time simulations of a $U(1)$ lattice gauge theory / Barata, João (CERN) ; Frenklakh, David (Brookhaven) ; Mukherjee, Swagato (Brookhaven)
We investigate thermal properties of a $U(1)$ lattice gauge theory in $1+1$-dimensions through real-time simulations. We extract the spectral functions directly coupling to the pseudoscalar and scalar mesons, demonstrating the thermal modifications of these states with increasing temperatures. [...]

Gravitational Wave Scattering on Magnetic Fields / Domcke, Valerie (CERN) ; Garcia-Cely, Camilo (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Lee, Sung Mook (CERN)
The conversion of gravitational to electromagnetic waves in the presence of background magnetic fields is known as the inverse Gertsenshtein effect, analogous to the Primakoff effect for axions. Rephrasing this conversion as a classical electrodynamics problem in the far-field regime of a magnetized region, we derive the angular distribution of the intensity and polarization of the emitted electromagnetic waves. Symmetry energy dependence of the bulk viscosity of nuclear matter / Yang, Yumu (Illinois U., Urbana) ; Hippert, Mauricio (Rio de Janeiro, CBPF ; Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Speranza, Enrico (CERN) ; Noronha, Jorge (Illinois U., Urbana)
We clarify how the weak-interaction-driven bulk viscosity $ζ$ and the bulk relaxation time $τ_Π$ of neutrino-transparent $npe$ matter depend on the nuclear symmetry energy. We show that, at saturation density, the equation-of-state dependence of these transport quantities is fully determined by the experimentally constrained nuclear symmetry energy $S$ and its slope $L$. (Quadratically) Refined Discrete Anomaly Cancellation / Dierigl, Markus (CERN) ; Tartaglia, Michelangelo (CSIC, Madrid)
In this work we study the cancellation of non-perturbative anomalies of gravitational theories with gauge group $\mathbb{Z}_k$ in six dimensions. These subtle anomalies require a classification of deformation classes of manifolds with discrete gauge bundles known as bordism groups. [...]

Axion-like particles (ALPs) are well-motivated examples of light, weakly coupled particles in theories beyond the Standard Model. In this work, we study long-lived ALPs coupled exclusively to leptons in the mass range between $2 m_e$ and $m_τ- m_e$. [...]

CP violation in $K\toμ^+μ^-$ with and without time dependence through a tagged analysis / D'Ambrosio, Giancarlo (INFN, Naples) ; Dery, Avital (CERN) ; Grossman, Yuval (Cornell U., LEPP) ; Kitahara, Teppei (Chiba U. ; KMI, Nagoya ; Nagoya U.) ; Marchevski, Radoslav (EPFL, Lausanne, LPPC) ; Martínez Santos, Diego (U. A Coruna) ; Schacht, Stefan (Durham U., IPPP)
We point out that using current knowledge of ${\cal B}(K^0_L\toμ^+μ^-)$ and $ {\cal B}(K^0_L\to γγ)$, one can extract short-distance information from the combined measurement of the time-integrated CP asymmetry, $A_{\rm CP}(K^0\toμ^+μ^-)$, and of ${\cal B}(K^0_S\toμ^+μ^-)$. We discuss the interplay between this set of observables, and demonstrate that determining ${\rm sign}[A_{\rm CP}(K^0\toμ^+μ^-)]$ would eliminate the discrete ambiguity in the Standard Model prediction for ${\cal B}(K^0_L\toμ^+μ^-)$.
